Chapter 20- Bailey

I couldn’t figure out I was so gosh darn nervous, but as I stood in front of the mirror in my bedroom and adjusted my earrings for the tenth time since deciding on my outfit, I couldn’t help the butterflies rolling around in my stomach.

Tonight was Jake’s wedding, and it was set to be the event of the year for Mayfield.

And it was also our first official outing as a throuple, Finn’s new favorite word for us.

And it was also the first time I would be meeting their parents as well, as they were coming home to celebrate Jake and Ivy for their wedding.

Their mom and dads were supposed to get into town last night so we could all get together for dinner ahead of time and meet, but their flight got delayed and they hadn’t gotten home until this afternoon.

So I’d be meeting the parents of the most important people in my life, in front of three hundred nosey small-town gossipers.

No pressure.

I had decided on a long Grecian style flowing gown that hugged my curves above my waist and somehow made me look taller thanks to the yards of fabric and my killer heels. It was navy blue at the top and the bottom third of it was covered in soft pink and white flower petals with navy and gold embellishments. It looked like the dress was alive when I moved, and it was breathtaking.

It was v-cut in the bodice with thick straps and there was a slit to my hip that was hidden wonderfully with the overabundance of fabric in the skirt, so if I wanted to keep my leg covered I just had to stand straight, and it disappeared.

But if I wanted to liven up the dress at all, I simply turned my hips a bit and the tanned silky skin of my leg and strappy gold heels showed and transformed the entire look.

I paired the look with a pair of small diamond gold hoops and a simple gold pendant necklace that fell to the hollow of my neck. I had taken the two hours and straightened my hair until it was smooth and then tied it up in a timeless chignon with gold clips and left only a few tendrils free at my temple and nape.

I felt beautiful, and that wasn’t something I ever truly remembered feeling before. Sure, there were times that I’d liked my outfit and felt good in it or something. But tonight was different, and I knew it was because of the love I felt from my men that truly made me blossom into this confident and powerful woman.

My phone pinged and I picked it up to see a picture message from Finn. It was a picture of him and Walker standing side by side in their matching Gray charcoal suits and pink boutonnieres.

They looked immaculate and I missed them dearly. They both had worked last night to be off tonight and tomorrow for the wedding and because they were in the wedding, they had spent most of the day at the venue with Jake doing last minute tasks.
